With every piece of art I create, the aim is to convey a profound message rooted deep in the connection with nature. Each artwork is more than just a visual experience; it is a transfer of the energy and tranquility absorbed from nature.
Nature has an incredible ability to heal and rejuvenate. Being present and in touch with the environment is essential for our well-being. My creative process involves immersing myself in nature, allowing its beauty and serenity to inspire and energize me. This energy is then channeled into my art, infusing each piece with the essence of the natural world.
Through my work, I strive to bring a piece of this healing energy into the spaces we inhabit. Serving as a reminder of the importance of being present and connected to nature, encouraging viewers to find moments of peace and reflection in their daily lives. My hope is that each artwork not only captivates the eye but also nurtures the soul, providing a sense of calm and connection to the natural world.
My story
Carrilyn Bonafe (b. 1993) is a self-taught Latina multidisciplinary artist whose creative journey is deeply rooted in the vibrant landscapes of Puerto Rico. Specializing in large-scale, one-of-a-kind wall artworks, Bonafe has developed a distinctive artistic voice by blending resin, powder pigments, acrylics, oil paints, and natural gemstones to craft compositions that exude depth, emotion, and a sense of wonder.
Her work is an exploration of the interplay between the subconscious mind and the spiritual world, manifesting in tangible forms that reflect her healing journey. By channeling her childhood and adolescent experiences into her art, Bonafe transforms personal narratives into universally resonant creations that invite viewers to find beauty and solace in her vision.
